Editing a Quiz Title does not (ask to) update linked Gradebook item's title
Steps to reproduce
- Create a Quiz
- Link it to the Gradebook
- Save
- Open Grades and confirm that the quiz item is linked
- Go back to Quizzes and edit the title.
- Save
- Open Grades and the items title has not changed
What should happen:
- The "Edit Quiz" page should always show which Gradebook item it is linked to (instead of just saying "In Grade book")
- If the Quiz title is updated and it is linked to a Gradebook item, it should prompt / ask the user if they want the gradebook item renamed too

Hello, Austin, how are you?
Thank you for detailing the steps you have followed in this scenario. I have followed them and I was able to reproduce the behaviour.
This is currently expected behaviour in Brightspace. When creating a new Grade Item linked to a Quiz, it will inherit the quiz's name for convenience. With that said, however, the Grade Items exist separately from the quiz itself and is a separate object in the database. This is why the name of the Grade Item is not automatically updated with the quiz.
As a matter of fact, you could even delete the Quiz in question and re-use the Grade Item with another Quiz or other activities in Brightspace, or copy and export it to other course offerings. This is meant to give more flexibility to how Grade Items can be used in Brightspace.
That being said, I would invite to submit a PIE idea requesting that functionality. With enough votes from other Clients, this could eventually become a feature in Brightspace.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please, don't hesitate to let me know, okay?Thank you kindly,
