Hello!

Is there a way to switch our preview inline annotation tools back to where they were before. The new setup requires too many clicks to each side of the screen to select the tool, then the width, and the colour and so on… Thank you!

    Hi @Jessica.M.3493 ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community.

Could you please provide a screenshot of what you were seeing previously? Also, could you confirm when the layout was changed?

I'm seeing a very similar layout in the Brightspace February 2025 build, with only minor differences. Please refer to the screenshot below of the February 2025 build for reference.

I apologize if I'm missing something obvious.

    Regards,
    Pulkit

    Hi Pulkit!

Thanks for the quick response :) I am referring to this recent build… I cannot however provide a screenshot of the previous version because I don't have one. What I can say, is that while the "pen", "comment box" "text" and "line" tools were still on the right, when you chose one, the colour choices, line thickness choices and so on were all on the left. With this new version, you choose on the right, then it takes you the left of the toolbar to select another choice, then back to the right… The back and forth is irritating and time consuming and affects the flow of work.

    Hello @Jessica.M.3493

I checked the same on our test site, and I understand your concern. However, it is currently not possible to edit the layout for the annotations keys in the HTML renderer.

If you would like more options I would suggest the submission of a PIE item, or upvoting one that suits your use case. Brightspace Community Idea Site: Submissions (brightidea.com)

We look forward to hearing from you at the Product Idea Exchange!

    Regards,

    Ashwin

    Thanks for your response, Ashwin!

I will do that with my team. That being said, I am wondering if consideration is being made to how many clicks we have to make how we can reduce the number of clicks per assignment?
