Can an instructor add a menu in the student answer box for a math final exam?

An instructor has uploaded her final in Brightspace, but instead of students having to write out 'pi' or 'square root' can she enable a menu to allow students to write those characters?
If this is possible, could you provide the steps?

    One of our instructors asked a lovely Virtual Assistant - you can enable students to have access to the full keyboard by enabling Respondus Lockdown Browser.
