    Hi @Ome.O.9322

Here’s a step-by-step guide to grading using labels like Distinction, Merit, etc.:

Step 1: Create a Custom Grade Scheme

    1. Go to: Grades > Schemes.
    2. Click New Scheme.
    3. Give your scheme a name.
    4. Under Ranges
    5. Click Save and Close.

Step 2: Apply the Grade Scheme to a Grade Item

    1. Go to Grades > Manage Grades.
    2. Click on the dropdown next to the grade item you want to update (e.g., the assignment).
    3. Choose Edit Grade Item.
    4. Under the Grading section, find Grade Scheme.
    5. Select the custom scheme you just created.
    6. Save and Close.

Step 3: Grade the Assignment Using the Scheme

When you go to Assess the Assignment, you can now:

    • Enter a percentage, and Brightspace will automatically display the correct label (e.g., 72% = Distinction).
    • OR — depending on setup — you may just choose from the dropdown list of grade scheme levels.

    Regards.
