Survey - Reports Generation and Editing
Hello D2L community,
We have recently opened a new module in our D2L course shell, and as a part of this learning journey, we have set up surveys. I would like to know if there is any way we can generate reports to see the students' numbers (part of our university ID) without leveraging that question in the survey itself. The reason is that it is easier to filter with student ID numbers rather than full names.
I wonder if there are any best practices and tips on the report generation process, and how to link, if possible, it with any CRM for better email marketing (in case we need to remind students to complete the survey).
Lastly, I wonder if I need to add a new question to the survey that has been already released - how I can do it in the best way so that people who already submitted an attempt (editable) will not be set back in their learning progress. The reason is that we have set up release conditions on our survey form so that students can access the SCORM object only after they submit the survey attempt. I am just scared to modify surveys if it is going to set the learners who completed an attempt back.
I would appreciate your help!

Hi @Marina.S.2225,
Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community.
Please find my responses below:
1. About Survey reports generation:
You could view survey results using these two options via Data Hub:
-To view the list of all the users that took the survey, you can view the users data using the Survey Attempts dataset: https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/4538-surveys-data-sets#survey-attempts
-To view the users attempts and which option they selected for each survey question, you can access the Survey User Answer Responses: https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/4538-surveys-data-sets#survey-user-answer-responses.
Or
You can also setup a Survey report for the individual surveys. Here is a link to a Community article which provides more details on how you can setup the report: https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/3468-track-survey-progress-and-results#set-up-survey-reports.
2. "If I need to add a new question to the survey that has been already released - how I can do it in the best way so that people who already submitted an attempt (editable) will not be set back in their learning progress.":
Editing the Survey will not make any modifications to existing attempts or attempts in progress.
Also, when you attach a release condition to an item, students cannot see that item until they meet the associated condition. Once a student meets a release condition, the condition is cleared for that student and cannot be reset.
Please refer to the following Community article for more details about Release conditions: https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/23554-about-release-conditions
