Senior Student Technology Woes
Hi I am a senior person who is new to Brightspace. I have been using computers since 1983. Actually I wrote essays for 2 University degrees on my Commodore 64 in the 1980's. I have used several Woord Processing programmes since then and now am using Microsoft Office. Most of thes programmes I have learnwed by using and asking questions.
My question now: Is there a student Guide for BrightSpace?
I am studying as Canadian Hearing Services learningAmerican Sign Language. This is the first time CHS is usingBrightspace for Student Courses.
I have several questions about how to complete my homework. One place I learned that if my answer was incorrect after submitting it, then I could retry, but I have not find that option.
Also please explain the purpose and access of the journal entry on the left of the screen.
Generally, I want to succeed, not only with my class, but mastering this new technology.
Live and Learn is my Motto. Never stop Learning. the Options are Not Nice.
Thank you, Dale Young

Hi @Dale.Y.6802, thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community!
It's wonderful to hear your dedication to learning!
Yes, we absolutely have plenty of helpful documentation to guide you through using Brightspace. Here are some resources that should help you with managing and submitting homework and Assignments:
Regarding the retry option, not all Quizzes or Assignments allow for retries. This feature depends on the specific settings chosen by your Instructor for that course or Quiz:
For the Journal Entry on the left of the screen, could you please share a screenshot of what you're seeing? That will allow me to assist you more clearly and make sure I address your question properly.
I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions!
Thank you!

I would suggest reaching out to your course provider, because every organisation's instance of Brightspace is slightly different, in terms of different options and features being switched on or off and some things being renamed to fit the local naming conventions. Often institutions produce their own guides which are customised to how they have set Brightspace up.
