How can I change the layout of the Content page?
Hello,
On the Content page, I would like to use the space on the right of the screen currently occupied by an empty column so that Content is wider, and less scrolling is required in a Course.
I found that I can select different layouts for Homepages that I have personally created, but unfortunately I have not found any controls to remove the empty column on the right.
How can I change the layout of the Content page? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi @Duncan.C.2893 ,
The Course Homepage and the Content page are designed with some white space intentionally in order to render properly on mobile devices.
Have you checked out the New Learner Experience? Here is a link with some screen shots to see if this might be a better option for you.
Let us know what you think!

Thanks for explaining why so much of the screen is not used Janet. The New Learner Content samples looked more efficient, like the courses do use the right side of the screen, rather than wasting it as empty space.
Is there a way to switch an existing course to New Learner Content? I have spent a lot of time developing what I already have. Can I reuse and improve my existing courses?
Or, is there a way to override the inefficient layout of the regular Content pages? I know we can change the layout of Homepages. Have those controls been coded for course developers to use in Content too?
Thanks for any advice you have as I struggle to get Brightspace to work for my students,
Duncan

Hello @Duncan.C.2893 ,
Thank you for reaching out to D2L Community.
Yes, it is possible to turn the New Learner Experience or New Content Experience ON in existing courses. This will require some changes in the configuration variables.
You can contact your school administrators to enable the experience for your course.

To be clear then Bharti, can I change the layout of existing courses to get rid of the wasted right column if I enable New Learner Experience and switch a course to that?
I found this in the Classic Content info page. Maybe I don't even need to switch to the New Learner experience?
How can I adjust my Layout to look like this???

I admit I'm struggling to see a noticeable difference between New and Classic content. They both have similar layouts in these examples? What functionality changes between them?

Hello @Duncan.C.2893 ,
As a learner, you can access Content in different views, depending on your organization or course settings:
—New Learner Experience
—New Content Experience (Lessons)
—Classic Content ExperienceFrom the screenshots provided, one represents the Classic Content Experience, while the other showcases the Lessons Experience (New Content Experience).
For reference, please see the additional screenshot illustrating the New Learner Experience, which is only available for learners. Instructors, however, will continue to be redirected to the Lessons Experience, ensuring they have the necessary privilege's to edit and manage course content effectively.
I hope this helps!
