How do I create a quiz with 8 out of 10 questions to choose from?

I have an academic who has 10 long answer questions and students only need to choose 8.

One option is creating an assignment but there is a strict time limit.

Another option is a quiz but not sure if bonus questions is the only option? It is tricky because it is a final exam tied to the gradebook so possible marks need to be correctly linked.
