Widget banners

@Marireke.J.119, the Visual ToC Widget will default to use the banner image used by the Course that it is displayed in for each of the modules. However, if you add an image to the module description in Content for any of them, that image will be displayed instead of the Course banner image. Alternatively, if you have multiple images in a Content module description, then it will only use the first image in the description to supersede the Course banner image.
You also have the ability to manually set the image (this will set the image for all modules displayed in the widget), by utilizing the widget properties (you may need your local Brightspace administrator's help with this). DefaultTileImage will set the image, and just within a course, if you have in the Manage Files of your course a folder called "custom_widgets", then another folder in that called "visual_toc", put an image in the "visual_toc" folder and reference just the name and extension of the image (ex. "image.png") in the widget properties. However, I will note that using images in the module descriptions in Content will also supersede this.
I hope that helps!

Hi Johnny,
So I'm still struggling with this. Thank you for helping Danielle. She did forward your response to me too. I've included a few images to explain what I want.
If you look at the image below. I want the top image on the banner to follow through to all widgets, except my contact widget. I know this is the default and it did work last year, but I can't figure out how to reset the default. Can you respond with pictures as well? Visual learner here. ;-)
When I go to system Widgets, this is what I see in the preview. I do not want this.
When I go to Custom widgets to the Visual TOC, it shows up as I want it to.
I just can't get the custom one to be the default. I can't find the string I need to use nor a spot to put it.
When I try to edit, these are the only settings I see:
This is the link for my course:
Homepage - English 10 (MJacobi24) (onlinelearningbc.com)
I hope this helps. If I know how to do it in this course, I can do it in the others.
Thanks again,
Marieke

Thank you for providing those screenshots. First up, sometimes the VToC widget can have some problems with caching the images instead of switching over to the new Banner image, so you may want to try clearing your browser's cache and that might make the images appear how you want.
Otherwise, if the widget is truly set to only be using the image that you are seeing, you (or your local Brightspace Administrator) can select the ellipsis that you see towards the top of the widget, that should allow you to configure it which is what I was referencing before about the widget configuration options. However, this part can be a bit tricky to sift through so you may want to reach out to your people locally, looks like Rod Peters or Danielle Calder, as they should have the ability to go in and help you change that stuff.
Hope that helps!
