How Can I Add Reminders or Set Notifications for Calendar Events
Hello,
I’m trying to figure out how to add reminders or set notifications for specific events that I’ve created in the calendar within D2L Brightspace.
Could someone guide me on how to set up these reminders or notifications so that students receive alerts about upcoming deadlines or important dates?
Thank you.

Hi Alexander,
Thank you for reaching out to us through community!
Currently there isn't an option to set notifications for the Calendar events.
We appreciate your feedback and have identified this as a featurerequest. I have found an existing PIE idea trelated to your query on adding notifications for calendar events https://desire2learn.brightidea.com/ideas/D1892
As you deem appropriate, kindly leave your comments and promote this idea.
TheProduct Idea Exchange is designed for direct submission by our clients and endusers to our Product Development organization and has the following advantages:
Alternately, you can use iCal feeds to sync the Brightspace calendar to your external calendars
You can use iCalfeeds to copy and paste a URL to any external calendar or download an .ics file. This enables you to sync your Calendar tool course events created in Brightspace with an external calendar such as Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar.
Conversely, subscribing to an iCal feed also syncs your external calendar application or device with the Calendar tool, keeping you updated without logging in to Brightspace.
Note
: Refer to your device or application instructions for adding an iCal feed, as each application has different methods for managing iCal feed.
You can refer the below community article that describes the steps on how to sync to an external calendar
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi Sreelakshmi,
Thank you for your response and the information provided.
I attempted to access the link to the existing PIE idea related to adding notifications for calendar events (https://desire2learn.brightidea.com/ideas/D1892). Unfortunately, the link appears to be password-protected, and I was unable to access the content. Could you please provide an alternative way to view on this idea?
Additionally, regarding the iCal feeds, I understand that they can sync with external calendars. However, I noticed that these feeds do not send notifications to students; they only send notifications to me. This limitation could impact how effectively students are kept informed about upcoming deadlines or important dates.
