Welcome to the Brightspace Community.
Usernames on the Community site are set to be users' FirstName.LastInitial+ a 3-digit number. Ex. "Sam.S123" due to our SSO log-in. This log-in system allows you to access multiple areas of the Brightspace Community, such as our Product Idea Exchange and Brightspace Learning Center. You can learn more about it in our SSO Registration guide. You can also learn more about the Community in our Community Tour!
That said, updating your own username is on our next set of future enhancements for the Community Roadmap.
