Re: Assignment submission receipt email
Hi!
The Notification Email setting to which you refer will send to only to email addresses you enter when a learner submits an assignment (typically, sent to those who need to review the assignments promptly). If that has been left blank, but your learners are receiving emails once they submit assignments, I am guessing you have intelligent agents set up for your course. Those can be stopped by Disabling the intelligent agent set up for each assignment submission. Learn more about Intelligent Agents here:
Re: Assignment submission receipt email
Thank you for your response. I do have an intelligent agent set up in the course, but it’s not related to assignment submissions. The intelligent agent is set up to send emails to inactive learners who haven’t accessed the course content in the past 10 days, so I don’t believe it’s relevant to this issue. I assume this might be something within Brightspace’s control, and we may need to reach out to Brightspace directly for further assistance. Thanks gain for your comment.
Re: Assignment submission receipt email
Did you discover a solutions to this? I can't find any setting and the only mention in the documentation is just using it as an example in setting up your default email configuration. Our students are giving us feedback that they don't really check their emails because their inboxes are so full of these receipts. It would be nice to turn them off or have a weekly email with a summary from the week or something.
Re: Assignment submission receipt email
Unfortunately, no — I haven’t found a solution yet. I agree it would be helpful to turn them off or have a weekly summary instead, but so far I haven’t come across a setting for that.
Re: Assignment submission receipt email
It doesn't seem like there is a way to disable the assignment submission confirmation emails.
Re: Importing Questions using a CSV
@Jeremy.B.7352 Hi Jeremy, the scoring options for the CSV file are:
AllOrNothing
RightAnswers
RightMinusWrong
CorrectAnswersLimitedSelections
RightAnswers is labeled as Correct Selections in the D2L UI.
There isn't a way to enable random answer orders with the CSV file, but there is a workaround if you have a lot of questions and don't want to manually check the box on each one.

Re: Release Notes Updates
The September 2025/20.25.09 Preview Release Notes are now live and ready for review! 🔍️
Please note, this is only a preview for the upcoming Brightspace version, which we will begin to roll out on September 4, 2025. All features described are subject to change before then.
Also, the August 2025/20.25.08 Release Notes have been republished to include the following changes:
- Updated the Brightspace – New Window icon for all menu items | Updated release note with an image that provides a contextual example, and removed the statement about a previous icon.
- Updated the release announcement about the Course API GET call to edit the LocaleId field name.
Public Content
It would be nice if there were an option on content to "Make Public". This could apply to everything in Content, but mostly I would use it for Web Page models. Classes could be designated as containing Public Items and when clicking on a class with Public Items, only those items designated as public would be available.
How to Prevent D2L from Rounding Up Decimals in Grades
Can you prevent Brightspace from rounding up a grade to two decimal places?
I am helping an instructor display up to 4 decimal places for both individual grade items, and for Midterm and Final grades. I have tried everything from changing the Org Unit Display Options on both instructor and student ends, reviewing Calculation Options, and covering Assignment grading settings.
When the instructor manually enters grades in the gradebook directly, he can keep up to four decimal places without the LMS automatically rounding up to two decimal places. But, when he enters grades into the Assignments evaluation section of Brightspace, the system automatically rounds up to two decimal places.
I've tried looking in the D2L forums for this answer as well and have come up dry. Any thoughts on this?
