Does Brightspace support TLS 1.3 and higher versions?
We have upgraded our code to TLS 1.2. Now question is, what if Brightspace changes to TLS 1.3?
How should we proactively make sure in our code, these upgrades get handled automatically?
Thanks
Anuja
Re: Does Brightspace support TLS 1.3 and higher versions?
Hello Anuja,
Brightspace doesn't have TLS 1.3 enabled at this time. Some of our partners have just started adding TLS 1.3 support and when we will enable it, it should be seamless to our clients.
Once TLS 1.3 will be the introduced, newer versions of browsers will start using this version right away but other tools or code managed by clients, may need to go through a similar process to what was done when we disabled TLS 1.1 support.
At this time there is no end of life date announced for TLS 1.2. so there is no urgency to schedule this work on our side.
We will communicate in Brightspace Community any changes to TLS versions. Please bookmark the High Impact Changes Timeline to be informed of all upcoming changes.
Hope this helps.

Re: Accessing other sites while doing a Brightspace quiz
Hi Mark,
To prevent user from accessing other sites you can use Respondus Lockdown Browser.
The LockDown Browser is a custom browser that deters cheating by locking down the Quizzes tool in Brightspace. It prevents learners from visiting other websites, accessing other applications, capturing screen content, and printing content displayed by the browser.
You can read more about the tool from below article

Accessing other sites while doing a Brightspace quiz
Hello, is there any way of preventing students from accessing other sites while they are doing an online quiz, or at least recording that fact if they do?
Re: Can I link a submodule from one module to another module?
Hi there! This is a great question as I can totally see how that would be useful throughout a term! When I want my students to refer to a module (or submodule) in more than one place, I do this within the Brightspace Editor by selecting "Insert Quicklink > Content > Module/Submodule". It offers easy access to the content without recreating it in multiple places. I included an image below that highlights the "Insert Quicklink" menu within the Brightspace Editor and pointed to Submodule link as well. I hope this helps 🙂

Re: Community Feedback🗨️
Are there particular training or community events that would be beneficial to an instructional designer who is new to Brightspace D2L? I have used several other LMS but never Brightspace.
