Hello, is there any way of preventing students from accessing other sites while they are doing an online quiz, or at least recording that fact if they do?

    Hi Mark,

To prevent user from accessing other sites you can use Respondus Lockdown Browser.

The LockDown Browser is a custom browser that deters cheating by locking down the Quizzes tool in Brightspace. It prevents learners from visiting other websites, accessing other applications, capturing screen content, and printing content displayed by the browser.

You can read more about the tool from below article

    Thanks,

If this is a take home quiz, of course the student probably has at least one other device at their fingertips so this is a bit of a moot point.

If you are able to, it might be better to set a more challenging quiz which is designed with the expectation of being taken with the internet and other resources available, and assesses higher order skills of how students process and use the information they obtain online.
