Re: Community Feedback🗨️
Hi there, faithful D2L Team. 🙂
I was just reading and would like to make a little suggestion. In the final sentence "do not hesitate to ask questions on Brightspace Community or via your CSM or TAM," I think it would be helpful to spell out the acronyms. I know what these letters mean now 😁, but for my first couple years with Brightspace they were a source of ??. 🤔
Re: How do you apply Header row and column distinction in tables?
@Cheryl.C.60, good question! This one is super easy to miss, but it's there. First, make a table, highlight the cells you want to be headers, and select the Table icon on the toolbar.
Then select the Cell option from the dropdown.
Then select the Cell Properties option.
In the Cell Properties dialog, set the Cell type to "Header cell"
That will make the cells in the table header cells. By default this will bold the text within the cell and center it. If you are creating/editing an HTML page that's using a template, then different cell header styles will be applied.
Hope that helps!

Re: Pagination/students per page in Gradebook
Hello @Heather.K.449
Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community.
The users can choose the number of users to be displayed from the dropdown at the bottom of the Grades page.
You can change this display option with the config variable: d2l.Settings.PaginationNumbering ( Org )
The per page options available for use within a gradebook is dependent on the following config variables
Grades.GradesList.MaxSpreadsheetRecords
- Limits the number of users displayed on a single page in spreadsheet view
d2l.Tools.Grades.GradesList.MaxRecords
- Limits the number of users per page based on the maximum number of grade items that can be viewed on a page
These settings denote the maximum amount of records that will be displayed on one page, so if the number shown will go over that limit, it will reduce the 'per page' option to the maximum amount that can be used on the page. Bear in mind, however, that these settings are in place to prevent timeouts within grade books. Still, you can change those values if you wish, but in doing so you would assume added risk for slowness/timeouts, and you might need to reduce these again should this happen.
Something to consider about Grades.GradesList.MaxSpreadsheetRecords is that this is used as part of the calculation to determine the # of users that can render per page, but it is not the # of user that can render per page.
Calculation:
Number of rows = Maximum Records Allowed / Number of Columns
OR
Maximum users per page = Grades.GradesList.MaxSpreadsheetRecords / # of Grade Items
Using this same formula, you should be able to calculate what value for Grades.GradesList.MaxSpreadsheetRecords would be required in order to allow for the additional filters, bearing in mind considerations for performance that I alluded to.
Now, you want the maximum users per page to exceed the largest per page count as to not to exclude your targeted per page count value.

Re: Surveys not showing up to select award requirement
@Debbie.T.406 Hi Debbie, are the surveys anonymous? Those can't be used in release conditions since they wouldn't actually be anonymous in that situation.
Re: Potential caching or updating issue in classic experience on Content
Hi Mandi
You can verify if it's a caching issue by logging into Brightspace again in a "Private/Incognito" tab. This will load everything fresh and demonstrate if what you're seeing is actually a software issue.
The dates that show up in Brightspace are duplicated between the activity (Assignments, Quizzes, etc) and the Content Object (the thing that arranges those activities into the Table of Contents). It's possible, I suppose, for the date in the activity or calendar to change and fail to update the Content Topic (or vice versa) …though it shouldn't do that.
I would recommend you set up a test try this out. If you can replicate the issue, definitely raise it with Support. If there's a bug we need to know about it!
Thanks

Hi Kristopher, this is the Brightspace Community where documentation can be found relating to the use of Brightspace. It is different from your course or learning environment!
If you are looking for information on your specific course, it would be best for you to reach out to your instructor directly.

New Content Experience: Video Embeds
My institution is currently experimenting with the New Content Experience. A concern is the lack of support for video embeds (bar YouTube) when creating a new weblink. Will there ever be an option to insert an embed code instead of only a URL? Being to create video topics and audio topics is a very welcome feature of the classic content experience.
If there is a way to embed videos other than into html pages, I'd appreciate any guidance.
Thanks,
Rodrigo
