This section provides a preview of product and feature delivery plans for May 2026/20.26.05 and June 2026/20.26.06 releases. The Product and Services Preview document replaces the former 60/90 day Review/Preview.

Enablement Information
Information about the default state of a released feature, function or change in a Brightspace site is included to provide additional information, supporting change preparation, or planning in your organization.
Availability (Enabled State)
Advanced knowledge about whether customers can control access to the feature, function, or changes. This allows Administrators, trainers and supporting roles in an organization an opportunity to know which items are controllable and which are not.
- On: Indicates that the feature’s default state is visible/on and that there is no override or setting to control this state by any user.
- Off: Indicates that the feature’s default state is hidden/off and that there is no override or setting to control this state by any user.
- On (Overridable): Indicates the features default state and that it can be controlled or overridden by a user. For example, a new permission that is automatically selected for specific roles, or an editable config variable default that is on both offer opportunities to configure or override the default states.
- Off (Overridable): Indicates the features default state and that it can be controlled or overridden by a Brightspace user. For example, a new permission that is not selected, a new setting or new config variable that is off by default both provide opportunities to review and enable if desired.
Site Actions (Enablement Method)
For any feature, function, or change that is controllable, this section indicate the role settings, permissions, config variables, tool, or application settings you use to control the feature.
This allows Administrators, trainers, or supporting roles in an organization the opportunity to make decisions earlier and better plan for any work required to support any updates or changes.

Additional Information Overview
The d2l.Tools.Dropbox.GroupDropboxCreationRedirectOptIn (OrgUnit) configuration variable introduced in the February 2026/20.26.02 release for the Legacy Group Assignment page with the user redirect dropdown will be set to ON by default. Administrators will no longer have the option to disable this configuration variable for their users.
Timeline:
- February 2026/20.26.02 – Group assignments in Advanced Assessment released.
- February 2026/20.26.02–September 2026/20.26.09 – Feedback collection period.
- May 2026/20.26.05 – Configuration set to ON by default, with no option to hide the dropdown tab.
- July 2027/20.27.07 – Legacy Group Assignment page will be retired.
Data Access / Data Hub — Updates to Content Objects Dataset

Additional Information Overview
A new column, Version (data type: bigint), will be added. This column will indicate the version of each row and will be used to determine row sequence, similar to how timestamps function in other data sets.
Additionally, all Datetime and Bit fields will be updated to use consistent formatting in alignment with the Brightspace Data Sets consistency standards.

Integrity Advocate — New proctoring tiers and IntegrityID offering

Integrity Advocate will introduce a new identity verification offering (IntegrityID) and will update the naming of existing proctoring tiers. The updated structure will align product names with assessment security levels and will include additional integrity features bundled directly into each tier rather than relying on separate add-ons.
My Courses Widget — Select specific semester or departments

Additional Information Overview
The My Courses widget will include a new option that allows administrators to control which semester or department tabs appear to users.
Within the widget settings, administrators will be able to select the desired Group By option (for example, Semester or Department) and choose which specific tabs are displayed. This enhancement will allow institutions to tailor the widget to show only relevant categories.
Any newly created semesters or departments will automatically be enabled and visible in the widget by default, unless administrators adjust the widget settings.
All courses in which a user is enrolled and that are visible to them will continue to appear in the All tab and in the View All Courses link, regardless of which semester or department tabs are displayed.
Quizzes — Updates to the Import button in Browse Question Library dialog

Brightspace Data Sets (BDS) Major Version 11 will be available in Analytics Builder, and the configuration variable d2l.Tools.BrightspaceDataSets.Version will be set to Version 11 by default.
Most updates will be handled programmatically. For changes that cannot be completed automatically, users will receive a notification.

Analytics Builder – Removal of Outdated BDS v10 Datasets

Effective June 4, 2026, all Brightspace Data Sets (BDS) v10 datasets will be removed from Analytics Builder. Customers will only have access to the latest BDS v11 datasets.
This update supports our version management strategy by removing outdated datasets, reducing confusion, and ensuring customers use the most current and supported data versions.
API — Add API routes for Grade Schemes

This release will add new API routes for Grade Schemes. This update will provide administrators with the ability to create, modify, and delete Grade Schemes using the API.
Administrators will be able to use the following API routes:

POST /d2l/api/le/(version)/(orgUnitId)/grades/schemes/ - Update an Existing Grade Scheme
PUT /d2l/api/le/(version)/(orgUnitId)/grades/schemes/(gradeSchemeId) - Delete an Existing Grade Scheme

API — Support Delegated Administration of Users within the Users API

The Lumi Certified Instructor Course will help new users develop essential platform skills and allow experienced users to strengthen their knowledge and fill any gaps. Upon successful completion, participants will receive recognition for their expertise.
This asynchronous course will include activities and assessments, allowing participants to complete the materials at their own pace without scheduled sessions. Participants must successfully complete the required assessments to earn the certificate.

Several Brightspace Data Sets will be updated to support recent enhancements to Achievement Scales and Thresholds for Outcome Sets. These updates will help ensure reporting remains accurate and aligned with how Outcome Sets are configured in courses.
Updates include:
- A Scale ID will be added to the Outcome Set Course and Outcome Set Org datasets to support consistent scale configuration and reporting.
- A Threshold field will be added to the Outcome Scale Definition dataset to support threshold-based reporting in the Outcome Achievement Dashboard.

IPSIS — Direct Brightspace–PowerSchool OneRoster Integration for Rostering and Grades Passback

Additional Information Overview
The direct Brightspace–PowerSchool integration will provide a secure connection between PowerSchool and Brightspace, enabling districts and schools to manage courses, users, and grades more efficiently. This integration will extend Brightspace’s existing OneRoster integration to deliver a standards-based rostering solution.
The integration will sync roster data from PowerSchool to Brightspace nightly or on demand, including districts, schools, terms, courses, sections, staff, students, and enrollments.
Brightspace will send grade data to PowerSchool nightly or on demand, including grade categories, grade items (PowerTeacher assignments), and student scores.
The integration will not support:
- Parent/guardian relationships for Brightspace for Parents & Guardians
- Course standards (outcomes) or student mastery data for competency-based education.
Learning Outcomes — Define Achievement Scales at the Outcome Set level

Program administrators will be able to assign an achievement scale directly to an Outcome Set. When the Outcome Set is imported into a course, the associated scale will be included automatically, ensuring consistent assessment configuration across courses and reducing the need for manual setup.
This update will also support the use of multiple scales within a single course, allowing each Outcome Set to maintain its own scale for more flexible and accurate measurement of learning outcomes.
Learning Outcomes — Set Achievement thresholds at the Outcome Set level for consistent reporting

For Achievement+ customers, thresholds will be defined within the achievement scale at the Outcome Set level. When an Outcome Set is imported into a course, the threshold will be included automatically, ensuring consistent achievement data collection and accurate reporting.
This update will remove the need for instructors to manually configure thresholds in each course, reducing setup errors and confusion.

The Enhanced Table of Contents will include the following improvements:
- Improved accessibility and keyboard controls to make course restructuring easier for all users
- Ability to expand and collapse modules without navigating away, helping users stay oriented while exploring the course
- Right-click option to open content items in a new window, allowing users to view multiple topics at once
- Condensed display that allows users on smaller devices to see more course content at once
- Visual design and behaviors that are more consistent with other areas of the Brightspace platform
Additionally, features released over the past year that depend on the Enhanced Table of Contents will be available.
Roles & Permissions — Support a Read-Only View of Roles and Permissions for Distributed Administration

The Users tool will support Distributed Administration (DA) by allowing administrators to view, create, and edit users at the Sub-Organization level. Sub-Org Administrators who are granted the appropriate permissions will be able to access the Users tool from their Sub-Organization course administration tools to search for users, manage enrollments, and create or delete users.
Enablement within the Users tool will be governed by tool permissions. Sub-Org Administrators will no longer be required to have permissions set at the Non-Cascading, Organization level. Instead, Sub-Org Administrators who are granted the appropriate permissions at the Sub-Organization level will be able to view or manage organizational units that exist entirely within their Sub-Organization.
