Course creators and educators can leverage D2L Lumi to create quiz questions to test learners' understanding of course material. Subject matter experts remain in the loop to ensure AI-generated questions are accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
Key features in 20.24.7 include:
- Select source content for basis of question generation from either the course table of contents or inserted custom text
- Generate a single question or up to ten unique questions at a time
- Five most popular question types supported: Multiple Choice, True False, Short Answer, Written Response, and Multi-Select
- Improve pedagogical quality of generated questions by selecting a level from Bloom’s Taxonomy
- Focus question generation on assessing desired learning outcomes if source content is aligned
- Ability for instructor or course creator to review, modify, and discard questions prior to saving
- Organize and save AI-generated questions into current section or new section in Question Library
- Automatically align AI-generated questions to existing learning outcomes if used during AI generation workflow
- New metadata denotes whether question was AI-generated and human reviewed or AI-generated and human modified

Required Permissions
To leverage D2L Lumi to generate questions, users must be able to create new questions in the Question Library. Ensure users have permissions for:
- Question Collections > See Question Collection Tool
- Question Collections > Create Questions and Sections
- Generative AI > Generate Questions
