How do I preview Quizzes with the lockdown browser on?

I’m having problems previewing quizzes in D2L using the Respondus lockdown browser. When I select Preview for one of my quizzes, it goes into the preview and I can see the Start Quiz button at the bottom, which will take me into the quiz. But then I choose to Bypass Restrictions so I can test the quiz with the lockdown browser on, and the lockdown part launches just fine but there is no Start Quiz button at the bottom any more, so I can never get into the quiz.

I’ve updated the lockdown browser file, and have tried this from both Edge and Firefox, and still I can’t test my quizzes with the lockdown browser on. I have no problems with quizzes that do not use the lockdown browser, and no problem with those that do have it IF I leave the Bypass Restrictions checked so that the lockdown browser doesn't start. But once I am into the locked down part, there is no Start Quiz button.

I need to link to an external web domain, and obviously need to test to make sure that the students can access it with their browsers locked down. Brightspace's help even suggests that we test out such features, but how?

    Hi Ann,

A couple of additional suggestions for you to try:

    • Temporarily disable any installed browser extensions and try accessing the quiz
    • Try accessing the quiz using Google Chrome
    • If available, log in as a test student and access the course and quiz
    • If you have impersonation permissions enabled on your role impersonate a test student

    Once in the Lockdown Browser:

    • Click on the Help Centre link
    • Run the System Check
    • Resolve any issues if there are any

If all of the above fails to resolve the issue, please connect with your institutions LMS support team - if necessary, they can create a case with the D2L Support team.

    Hope that helps!
