Removing old blog posts

Hello,

Is it possible to delete old blog posts? Or, is there a config variable that will remove them after a set time?

    Hi @Lynn.L.12,

Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community!.

Unfortunately at present, there is no built‑in feature or configuration variable to automatically delete blog posts after a certain time period.

Deleting blog entries must be done manually via UI.

    For Blog entries:

Users can remove comments on their own blogs. They cannot delete comments on another user's blog. To delete entries, please refer to the following documentation article:

    https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/3610-create-a-blog#delete-blog-comments

Alternatively, you may consider the d2l.Tools.Blog.User.RemoveBlogWatchDays config variable which removes entries from blog watch after x days. This variable only affects notification visibility, not the existence of the blog entries themselves.

For Discussion forums, topics, threads, or posts:

You can manually delete discussions forums, topics, threads, or posts manually following these steps:

    1. Go to the Discussions tool.
    2. On the Discussions List page, click the dropdown menu of the forum, topic, thread, or post you want to delete and click Delete, Delete Thread, or Delete Post.
    3. Confirm the deletion by clicking "Yes".

Please also find the following article which provides further information regarding the Discussion forums and topics:

    https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/3454-create-discussion-forums-and-topics#delete-discussion-forums-topics-threads-or-posts-in-the-discussions-tool

    Hope this helps!

Please feel welcome to reach out with more questions.

    Best regards

    Miguel B.
