Visibility settings
Is there a way to globally change the default for visibility to "Visible with Submission Restricted"? Our system defaults to "Visible with access restricted" which is painful to change on all assignments and discussions that's due dates vary from week to week. I may just be missing something simple, but would love any help I can get on this. Thank you!

Users with sufficient permissions to access the Config Variable Browser, should be able to update config variables d2l.Tools.Dropbox.StartDateDefaultType and d2l.Tools.Dropbox.EndDateDefaultType to default which option is selected by default for start and end dates, respectively, during assignment creation.
Note: Dropbox is a legacy tool name that is now referred to as Assignments.
Since these config variables are of type Org Unit, this means they can be setup to default for the entire organization, or more selectively within branches of the org structure (i.e. all courses that descend from a particular org unit).

To change the default for the organization, simply add an override value to the Organizational Org Unit. If you are not sure what the name or org unit id of the organizational org unit is, you can look it up in the Org Unit Editor.
Adding an override to the organizational org unit should by default have a cascading effect. To cascade from any other level you will have to configure cascading logic — both of these considerations and concepts should be covered in the linked webinar about Config Variables I provided in my previous response.

Hi Jeffrey! That is super helpful as the legacy tool name is why I couldn't find it. I'm assuming based on this, though I am a superAdmin, I can't change the default for the organization? I'd have to do overrides by orgUnits?
