Export grade report - more fields required
Hello
I've set up the grade function on our Business Law virtual master course but frustratingly the export function only gives the option of exporting the fields here and below:
To be of any value to us we need to know:
- Which course the grades relate to (course name and code)
- What date the grade was added (grades progress in class progress shows date last modified here)
- Who was the instructor (Classlist gives default option to include the name of person who has the role of instructor)
How do we add the additional fields?
Hope you can help
Best regards
Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Thank you for connecting with us!
Based on the data you are looking to capture, Brightspace Data Sets will be the best place to locate this information. Since the data spans multiple datasets, combining them can provide a comprehensive overview. Here’s a breakdown of where to find each specific piece of information:
- Which course the grades relate to (course name and code)
The Grades Object dataset includes information on each grade item along with its corresponding organizational unit details (Org Unit ID/Course offering and Name columns). More details on this dataset can be found here: - What date the grade was added (grades progress in class progress shows date last modified here)
The Grade Object Logs dataset logs changes to grades for each applicable user. This includes the date each grade was last modified. More information can be found here: - Who was the instructor (Classlist gives default option to include the name of person who has the role of instructor)
For further details, the Enrollments and Withdrawals dataset lists enrollments and withdrawals, with Org Unit IDs and Role IDs. This can be used to filter users enrolled in a specific course with the instructor role. Additional information can be found here:
You could merge the corresponding datasets into a single report and this should address the additional field requirements
- Which course the grades relate to (course name and code)
