Academic Transcript across all enrolled courses.

Hi Brightspace Community,

I am looking for a way to generate a single, cumulative Academic Transcript (or consolidated grade report) for a learner across all of their enrolled courses.

Currently, I have to go into each course individually to pull grades manually.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

In Brightspace, gradebooks are natively structured at the individual Course Offering level. While there isn't a direct "single-click transcript generator" within the course-level Grades tool, there are several effective ways to view and extract cumulative grades across all enrolled courses for a learner without having to check each course manually:

Option 1: Brightspace Data Hub (Recommended for Custom Exports & Reports)

If you have administrator access:

• Navigate to Data Hub.
• You can leverage Brightspace Data Sets (BDS) to pull organization-wide grade data:
  • Final Grades Data Set: Extracts all final calculated and adjusted grades across all courses.
  • Grades Data Set: Extracts granular grade items and scores.
  • Users & Enrollments Data Sets: Provides user names, IDs, and course titles.
• How to use: By filtering the dataset by the learner’s UserId or OrgDefinedId in Excel, Power BI, or your reporting tool, you can generate a consolidated grade report across all courses.

Option 2: Class Progress / User Progress (Best for Quick LMS Viewing)

If you need to quickly review a learner’s standing across all courses inside Brightspace:

• Go to Users > search for the user profile and open User Progress
• Selecting the student provides a consolidated summary displaying grades, completion metrics, and activity across all their enrolled courses in one place.
• You will see the option to switch between courses on the left panel:

Option 3: Brightspace Valence REST API (For Automation)

If your technical team is looking to automate transcript generation:

• You can query the Valence REST APIs (specifically /d2l/api/le/{version}/{orgUnitId}/grades/values/{userId}) to programmatically fetch grades across all enrollments and populate your own custom transcript template.
