I coordinate a large university paper with 2,000 students and a team of 20 markers. Due to our rigorous moderation process, many essays are accessed up to four times, resulting in over 8,000 individual grading interactions across a 3-week window.Because our grading rubric features 15 independently assessed criteria, system latency is a critical bottleneck. For example, a minor 7-second delay to find and tap a number into the current segmented marking line adds roughly 15.5 hours of unnecessary administrative time across the cohort. Having to manually type in decimal increments (e.g., changing a 7 to a 7.5) during moderation adds further friction compared to the rapid cursor-based workflows seen in tools like Turnitin.To improve grading efficiency, we request that Aoroa implement a slideable cursor/slider to register marks rather than requiring markers to tap a segmented line or manually type numerical overrides. Replacing dozens of clicks per essay with a fluid sliding mechanism would drastically reduce our grading timelines and improve the user experience for large-scale teaching teams.Thank you for considering this enhancement.
