Dropped grades

I have set up my Gradebook so as to drop the lowest grade in certain categories. I know how to do it but I always get questions from students when they see Dropped! I know the program assumes that the next assignment could potentially be dropped, but I wish there were a way that students wouldn't see that. I talked to a programmer and they said that showing Dropped! could be delayed until the end when it really matters. I also know that I could wait until the end of the term to add in the drop component but I'm afraid I'll forget.

Any ideas to help stop the confusion?

Hello @George.O.31, thanks for your question!

The method you noted around leaving off "Number of lowest non-bonus items to drop for each user" until the end of the course would likely be the preferred method I'd recommend to avoid the dropped wording.
