on layouts
Every week I have an assignment, a chapter to read for the assignment, and an article or video associated with the assignment. Would creating layouts for these three item be advisable?

Thank you for reaching out to the Brightspace Community!.
Based on the scenario you kindly shared, it seems that creating layouts in Brightspace for those three recurring items can be appropriate as this is recommended when the weekly structure is repeated every week.
You may want to consider using layouts in Brightspace to streamline your weekly modules. Since each week includes similar components, creating a consistent layout can save time and make the course easier for students to navigate. A reusable structure also helps maintain clarity and reduces the chance of missing important elements as you build out each week.
As you plan your course layout, keep in mind the overall length of the homepage and how much scrolling students will need to do. Limiting scrolling can make the page easier to process and helps learners quickly locate key information.
Please kindly find below the following article regarding the best practices for creating a Course Homepage, including the use of layouts.
Hope this helps!
