D2L Gradebook - Settings - Calculation Options - "Treat ungraded items as 0"

"Treat ungraded item as zero" should not mean "place a zero in gradebook".

Having a bunch of zeros show up freaked my students out.

How about 3 items instead of 2?

Currently: 1) Drop ungraded items; 2) Treat ungraded items as zero

Maybe future: 1) Drop ungraded items; 2) Mark ungraded items with a zero; 3) Calculate ungraded items as if they were a zero

  • Hello @mark.schmid@tridenttech.edu,

Thank you for reaching out to Brightspace Community!

Enabling the "Treat ungraded items as 0" setting in the Grades tool assigns a 0 to any item that hasn’t been graded. You can use this if you want learners to see the lowest possible grade until you enter a real score.

More information about the current Calculation settings is available in the following article: Set up your Grade book - Brightspace
