How to Check Who Deactivated a Student Account in Brightspace?

Hi everyone,

We are trying to find out if there's a way to check which staff member deactivated a student account in Brightspace.

I’ve heard this might be possible through Admin Tools > Audit Logs, but I can’t find that option in my interface. I suspect I may not have the right permissions, but before escalating to our system admin, I’d like to confirm:

  • Where exactly can I find the Audit Logs?
  • What type of event should I look for (e.g., "Deactivate user", "User Status Change")?
  • Is there any other way to track this kind of activity, such as through Brightspace Data Sets or logs?

Any guidance or screenshots would be really helpful. Thank you!

    Thank you for reaching Brightspace community. In Brightspace, it's not possible to directly see who deactivated a user through standard reporting or logs within the platform. While you can see if a user is active or inactive, the system doesn't track the user who performed the deactivation. If you need to track this information, it's recommended to submit a support case to D2L Support.
