Replacing and restoring old uploads

hi, I have a case where “only the most recent submission is kept” this deletes all previous uploads. When restoring the old deleted files is there a chance that it is replaced by the new version. Im trying to work out if there is potentially the case were old files completely get removed without anyway to retrieve them? Through replacement or overridden or same file name issues

    Hey Ceri,

    Thank you for your question.

    In short, previous assignments are overwritten and 'deleted'; however, on a rare occasion, in case the instructor needs to retrieve them urgently, we are able to run a script to do that. Each submission has its own unique ID, so there is no way a submission can be replaced by a newer submission when restoring, regardless of any cases where the files have the same names.
