Final Exam - Repeated Questions

Hello,

Our college recently transitioned to Brightspace, and I’m in the process of adjusting my assessments accordingly. For my course, each unit exam builds on the last by including some repeated questions to reinforce key concepts. For the final exam, I’ve configured it to randomly pull questions from each of the previous exams.

However, this setup has resulted in some questions appearing more than once within the final exam. I’d like to maintain the randomization while preventing duplicate questions from appearing.

Is there a way in Brightspace to randomize question selection across multiple pools without allowing repeats on the final exam?

Hello Josh,

My advice would be to take a step back from configuring the Final Exam itself and work on organizing your Question Library so that all questions exist there only once, and organized into folders representing their original unit.

Then rebuild all of the Quizzes (with Question Pools where appropriate) based on the single instance of each Question from the Question Library. In doing so, it won't be possible for anything to be repeated on your Final Exam.
