Non-Graded (Auditing) Student Options
Hello - I am a systems administrator for an online university. I have been looking for a way to allow some students to audit a course while others are taking it for a grade. In these cases, the student would enroll to access the content, but would not engage or be graded. Currently, our rubric is set up so that a student who does not complete any work earns an F. But that influences some of our data points.
So my question is, is there a way to assign a different grade scale or rubric to just particular students in a class where others will pull the default scale? Or, is there a way to exclude specific students from factoring into the weighted grade scaling?
Appreicate any thoughts or if there are some docs someone can point me to.

Hello @Jacob.C.480,
Thanks for your question! At this time, Brightspace does not support assigning separate rubrics or grade scales to individual students within the same assignment or activity. Similarly, excluding specific students from grade calculations (such as audit students, in your case) is not currently possible through built-in settings.
In cases like this, you may check other workarounds by applying limitations such as:
Explore creating separate sections or groups for audited and graded students and applying release conditions for graded items.
If this functionality would be valuable for your institution, I recommend submitting a PIE item or supporting an existing one. You can access PIE through Brightspace Community to help influence future development.
