How do I exempt an assignment in the grade book?

If you want to exempt a student or a list of students from a particular grade item, you can take the following steps:

Go to your grade book.
Click to expand the context menu right next to the grade item associated with the said assignment.
Go to Enter Grades
Select the student(s) you would like to exempt.
On the top of the student list, click 'Exempt'.
Save
