uploading grades to D2L

I am not able to get any grades to upload to D2L. I get an error every time, but it doesn't tell me anything about what it doesn't like. It just says it can't read the file. It is a .csv file .

My input looks something like this:

OrgDefinedId	ec: mindset 1 Points Grade	End-of-Line Indicator
e0000000	3	#

I have tried it with and without the leading e, but no difference. I have included the usernames in the format shown in the sample (firstname.lastname). Any suggestions on what I can do? I am just trying to get one grade to upload, before I upload all of the others. (I changed the id to 0's for privacy purposes).
