A graduate student received an "F" because he did not submit his assignment on Brightspace. After he received the "F" he emailed me (the professor) and reported that he had indeed submitted the assignment on Brightspace on May 18th, but Brightspace "lost" his assignment. As the professor, I cannot see any submission from him. He is specific about May 18th. Is it possible to do an in-depth analysis of this student's activities on Brightspace on May 18th? All I can see is that he accessed the system on May 18th, but he did not access the course on May 18th.

It it possible for Brightspace to lose an assignment? I am skeptical.

    Hi @Elizabeth.A.2834

You can check your Assignment's submission logs and look for your student's name to determine whether something has gone wrong with their submission:

    From the Assignments tool,

    • Click the dropdown menu right next to the assignment's name and go to 'View Submissions'
    • Then, go to the 'Submissions' tab
    • Finally, if the student is saying they have submitted their work, I'd recommend you search the 'started' tab and search for your student's name through the 'cntrl + f' function.

Note: if you have a large group of students, I advise you to scroll all the way down and select to show 100 results per page.

    I hope this is helpful.

I checked and his name does not appear anywhere in the submissions log, and I checked all the tabs (submitted deleted restored started). So there it is.
