Survey Tool
Hello - I have been asked to create a survey for all the students in all my courses across the institution. I know I could create a survey in each class manually, but is there an easier way to do it? It is for every course running in this "semester" so there is a way to get a list of the courses.

Hello @Jason.P.2506
Thank you for reaching out via the Brightspace Community!
To create a survey at the organization level and share it across course offerings, please follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the Survey tool at the Org Level (Org Unit ID: 6606).
- Click the dropdown arrow beside the name of the survey you want to share and select Edit (or create a new survey).
- Go to the Restrictions tab.
- Check the option "Make this survey available to users at other org units."
- Add the desired Course Offerings, Templates, Departments, Programs, Semesters, or other Org Units where you want the survey to be available.
Once shared, the survey can be added in the respective courses via:
Course Content > Module > Add Existing Activities > More > Surveys.Regarding your follow-up question: “How do you identify the top-level course?”
Please refer to the following Brightspace Community article:https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/kb/articles/5398-about-org-unit-editor
Could you please review the article and confirm if it addresses your question? If you have any additional inquiries, we’d be happy to assist further — feel free to create a support case with us.

Hey @Jason.P.2506 if you have SuperAdmin permissions then you can create a survey at the top level "home" and this will cascade down to all courses in your system, or if it is for a sector or semester you can find the "top level" course for that and create the course there. It will mostly depend on your level of permissions based on your role in Brightspace on whether or not you can do this. If you are an admin/super admin then you should be able to find the correct hierarchy you need in the Org Unit Editor. if you are not then contact the team at your institution who is and they will be able to assist.
