There is a difference between a Discussion Forum and a Discussion Topic. Student work is done in the Discussion Topic and can be saved. A discussion forum is a container, like a folder, that organizes discussion topics, while a discussion topic is the specific subject or prompt where the actual discussion takes place. A forum can hold multiple topics, and a topic belongs to a forum.
