Release Conditions & Creator+ Practice Questions

I'm trying to create a sort of fake identity verification experience for students in a course I'm helping to build. My intent is to present students with a single Content folder/unit. When selected, the splash page will include a Storyline interactive that simulates an optical scan, then directs them to an HTML page in that folder/unit that contains a Creator+ Practice question or two to "verify their identity."

What I would like to happen is for the course's hidden folders/units to unhide after students correctly answer the Practice questions. I tried using the Release Condition, Content - Completed content topic, but the hidden folders released as soon as the student visited the page. They didn't even need to start answering the Practice questions.

So, how does the Content - Completed content topic release condition work in this case? What's a workaround? If I added a bunch of empty space to the bottom of the page and directed students to "navigate to the bottom of the page to verify your input device," would the Release Condition wait until they got to the bottom of the page? Or maybe I need to replace the Creator+ Practice questions with another Storyline?

Thank you for your insights!

  • Hi Jeffrey,

You won't be able to use RCs on Practice questions, just viewing the page itself. Do you have the new C+ that includes H5P? You could use a H5P Interactive which can create a grade item. Alternatively, you could use a quiz.

Thank you, Andrea. We're currently evaluating H5P, but I don't have access to it yet. I'm not looking for something to be added to the gradebook for this, I'm just looking for some clarity on what constitutes a "completed topic" to control when the Release Condition is triggered. The documentation on it is very vague.
