Need help reseting a grade entry back to just a blank entry.
I would like to remove a grade entry in the grade book so that it is just blank. Before the most recent update, when I deleted a grade and saved, the gradebook would just show a blank entry. Now when I delete a grade in the grade book and save, it saves as a Zero. Is there any way to go back to just a blank entry in the gradebook

@Matt.W.7186 Hi Matt, go to your gradebook settings and the Calculation Options tab. Scroll down to Grade Calculations and make sure it's set to Exclude ungraded items and that Automatic Zero for missing submissions is not checked.

Hi Jennifer,
I think the suggested solution is for a slightly different problem. I have the setting "Treat ungraded items as 0" unchecked in all of my D2L courses.
The ungraded items are not the problem. I sometimes need to put a grade in directly to the D2L gradebook for assignments that are done in person but let's say I accidentally put in an 80 in for the wrong student's grade for their project #1 grade. In the past, I could just delete the entry and save the gradebook which would then, show the entry as just a blank again. As of our most recent D2L update, when I enter a grade manually save it. Then, I delete it (which appears blank for the moment) and press save again but now the grade shows up as an actual '0' in the gradebook instead of just a blank ungraded space. I can no longer delete the entry back to where it is just a blank entry in the gradebook. I can only change it to another numeric grade which is not what I want to do. Up until the most recent update when I deleted a gradebook entry and saved, the space in the gradebook would just be blank.
Please help.
Thanks,
-Matt
