Link to discussion does not show the instructions

Hello there,

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it. I have a link to a Discussion that takes apparently takes students to a place where they cannot see the instructions before they post, as in the attached video. Is it possible to set up a link that includes the instructions?

Video:

  1. Shows the disfunctional link without the student Instructions.
  2. Shows the students Instructions when navigated through the menus to the discussion.

    Hello @Bill.W.6687

I checked out your video. What you may want to do is "create a page" then copy that text information (instructions) to the webpage, then at the bottom provide a link for your students to the actual discussion. Would that work for your situation?

    Regards,

Thank you Susan; While it would improve things, it introduces a new problem: if I move the instructions to the suggested place in the content area, students who navigate directly to Discussions will not see the instructions. Alternativley if I copy the instructions instead of moving them, having them in 2 places results in confusion: some people will see the instructions twice, and now I have to maintain 2 sets of instructions if revision is necessary.
