Assignment submission receipt email
Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that Brightspace sends an automatic email to learners every time they submit an assignment, even though I didn’t add an email address in the Notification Email field when setting up the assignments. I would like to stop this automatic submission receipt email but still want learners to receive emails when awards are unlocked. How can I adjust this?

Hi!
The Notification Email setting to which you refer will send to only to email addresses you enter when a learner submits an assignment (typically, sent to those who need to review the assignments promptly). If that has been left blank, but your learners are receiving emails once they submit assignments, I am guessing you have intelligent agents set up for your course. Those can be stopped by Disabling the intelligent agent set up for each assignment submission. Learn more about Intelligent Agents here:

Thank you for your response. I do have an intelligent agent set up in the course, but it’s not related to assignment submissions. The intelligent agent is set up to send emails to inactive learners who haven’t accessed the course content in the past 10 days, so I don’t believe it’s relevant to this issue. I assume this might be something within Brightspace’s control, and we may need to reach out to Brightspace directly for further assistance. Thanks gain for your comment.

Did you discover a solutions to this? I can't find any setting and the only mention in the documentation is just using it as an example in setting up your default email configuration. Our students are giving us feedback that they don't really check their emails because their inboxes are so full of these receipts. It would be nice to turn them off or have a weekly email with a summary from the week or something.

Unfortunately, no — I haven’t found a solution yet. I agree it would be helpful to turn them off or have a weekly summary instead, but so far I haven’t come across a setting for that.

It doesn't seem like there is a way to disable the assignment submission confirmation emails.

Based on your description, it appears that there is currently no feature available to turn off the automated Assignment submission receipt email.
If you would like more options, I would highly suggest the submission of a PIE item, or upvoting one that suits your use case.
