Is Class Progress Limited to 30-some days?

In the classic experience, the class progress tool doesn't keep student data forever. It cuts off at some point. We've been thinking it held only 30 days of data, but that may be b/c it says it shows only 30 days of login history. I'm going to watch a course this month to see when the data starts to disappear from the class progress page. I know it's still in the background, but our faculty don't have access to it. To illustrate, I've shared an image of course from last semester to show how the data doesn't stick around.

The question has come up whether we configured the class progress tool to only show 30-some days of data or something else is limited it. What is your experience with this tool? Does it show student data for the length of the course or longer?

  • Hi! I can confirm that the Course Access Progress report does only seem to display the data for the last 30 days. This is consistent for both Classic and New Content Experience. However, if you click to the Content area in Class Progress, you can see their total content access, regardless of how long it's been since they accessed the course. You can drill down further into each module to get more access info. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply, Brielle, but what you show is not what we show. We can't go back to a prior semester and see anything. What we can see now if more than 30 days in a live course, but at some point this month, we will stop seeing January activity. I'm going to keep an eye on it this week.
