Course POWT2395 is currently listed in the spring term, term 1243, has the first Brightspace offering transferred from Moodle. This is listed as POWT2395X01.

The X01 designates the course section. We need there to be two sections, so we need to have an X01 and X02 to align with all their other courses. I need some help to do this.

  • Hello, Jim, how are you?

    First of all, I am sorry for the delay in you receiving an answer here. Let me jump straight to the issue at hand.

    I understand that you are talking about OU=45205 (POWT2395 - Third Class Plant Practicum (X01.1243)), correct?

    In that case, you may add a new Section in this course offering by going here and clicking on the blue "Add Section" button. It will allow you to choose a Section name and code when creating it, so you can name it with "X02" at the end.

    Would you also like to remove the "X01" from the name of the course offering? This can be done in the Course Offering Information here.

    Please, let me know if have understood the scenario correctly, okay?

    Thank you kindly,

    Piero de Sá

    Hello,

    There is no "Blue button" to add a section.

  • Hello, Jim,

    Thank you for the additional information. I have understood the cause of the issue.

    Your user account is enrolled in OU=45205 with the "Program Leader" role. The "Program Leader" role does not possess any of these three permissions: "See Sections", "Manage Sections" and "Create/Edit/Delete Sections". These permissions are necessary so that you can create a manage a new Section in the course offering.

    There are several different ways this issue can be solved, depending on how NAIT would prefer to proceed:

    1. The needed permissions could be given to the "Program Leader" role;
    2. You could be re-enrolled in OU=45205 with a different role, one that has these permissions;
    3. A User with the necessary permissions could create the necessary Section and perform the needed enrollments there.

    Please, let me know if you have any questions in relation to that and I will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you kindly,

    Piero de Sá
