Posting Feedback for an in-person test

I have an instructor who ended up making a test an in-person test rather than an online test.

The online test still exists in the course but has no attempts; the grade item will be used by the instructor manually adding in the grades in the gradebook item.

The tricky part is the instructor wants to provide the feedback to the students online and has thus scanned each of the physical tests into files.

From what I see as feedback options so far:

  1. General feedback: Use the grade item feedback option to provide each student with individual but general feedback.
  2. Create a sub module for each student, special access restrict the sub module to each student, upload their file into their specific sub modules.
  3. Similar to #2 but using discussion topic and restricted individual posts.

Options #2 and #3 allow for more precise feedback as the image of the test can be seen with the feedback.

Does anyone know a better way to go about this?

@Michael.E.421 Option 3 with individual discussion topics is a good idea, especially if the instructor wants the students to respond privately to any feedback from the scanned file. You could also associate a grade item with that discussion (or remove the association with the quiz grade item and link to existing) to evaluate the students and sync grades automatically.

Another alternative is to create an Assignment, set Submission Type to On paper submission and Marked as complete to Automatically on Evaluation. Then you can upload the correct file as an attachment on the evaluation screen for each student, where you can also enter the scores that will sync to the grade book and any other written feedback.
