Recommended process for removing duplicate grade items from gradebook
Good morning everyone,
When working with faculty needing to remove duplicate grade items can sometimes be a challenge. If the grade item is no longer associated with a quiz, assignment, or discussion, the process is simple.
The issue occurs when an instructor accidently copies a course from a previous semester into a current course already has content.
How do I delete the duplicate items from the gradebook? If I change the name of the duplicate quiz, assignment, etc., the name of the associated grade item does not change.
What is a better way to remove duplicate items from the gradebook?

@Kay.H.645 Hi Kay,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the Community site.
You can edit the duplicate activity for which you no longer require the grade item, Example quiz, and select Not in Gradebook, Click on Save, and Close. Once this is done you can go to the grade book and delete the grade item.
The best is to set all the duplicate activities for grades to not be in the Gradebook, then go to the course's Grades tool and delete all the unwanted grade items.
Regards,
Nik
