Hi @Beth.R.9700
I just wanted to connect you with this great post connecting @Sam.B.358 and @Shane.S.150 on their experiences moving from Blackboard to Brightspace. Communities that Connect!! <celebrates quietly at her desk!!!!> Really glad to have you all here! 😀 -
I just took a look at the quiz question types available in Blackboard. Be prepared that the following are not supported in BrightSpace quizzes:
• Hot Spot
• Jumbled Sentence
• Quiz Bowl
• File Response
• Likert
And that the workflows required to create Fill-in-the-Blank questions are significantly more complicated, time-consuming, and limiting.
We migrated from Moodle 4+ years ago and the loss of a more versatile quiz question types continues to be problematic.
You may also want to keep an eye on embedded audio files as they come over. We noticed differences in appearances depending on file type.

Hi Beth and Mike,
Please be aware that while Likert style questions aren’t supported in Brightspace Quiz, they are supported in the Survey Tool. Also, for File Response style questions, we recommend using a Written Response style quiz question - where the Instructor specifies that they’d like a file attached in the question instructions.
Additionally, during D2L’s annual conference in July 2024, Fusion, D2L announced its acquisition of H5P Group, the makers of H5P. Better integration of H5P within Brightspace (content and/or quiz) will give customers access to 60+ interactives with more variety in the style of assessable activities you can add to Brightspace for Learners.
We appreciate the feedback, as always. Questions and conversations like this help us think of ways to make content and/or quiz question creation better, including with acquisitions like that of H5P, which helps address customer requests for a greater variety of easy-to-create, assessable activities.
Your feedback contributes to a better Brightspace, so please keep sharing with us - it makes a difference!
