In Classic Content, to insert the SAME image in different HTML pages, do I choose:
- Create new file or -Overwrite the existing file?

When I choose create new file, it creates a second file with the number 1 after the file. Is this going to balloon my files area? What is a way around this to keep using the same image in different pages? Overwrite the existing file seems wrong too.

    Hi Lynn,

    Try the following steps:

    1. Upload the image file into the Manage Files are of your course.
    2. When in the content tool, select Upload/Create > Create a File
    3. Create you HTML file. In the HTML editor select the Picture icon from the editor menu (Insert Image)
    4. When prompted to Add a File > select Course Offering Files
    5. Place a tick in the tickbox to the left of the image filename, and select Add

As you are uploading the same image multiple times into the Manage Files area, Brightspace is appending a number to the end of the file so as to not overwrite the existing file.

If you follow the steps outlined above you shouldn't be prompted to overwrite etc. If you are prompted to overwrite this indicates the file has previously been uploaded to your course's Manage Files area so you can start the process from step 2 above.

    Hope this helps!
