Why can I Only view images from insert stuff > course files menu?

I have to go to insert quick link, then course files and I can see all of my files, pdf's, word documents, images, etc. However, when I click insert stuff > course files I am only able to see/select image files. I don't know what content experience I am getting.

When building the course you'll be in either the Classic Content Experience or New Content Experience (Lessons)

When a Learner accesses the content in a course offering, dependant on your institutions content tool setting, they will access course content using the Classic, Lessons or the New Learner Experience. Thanks for the response Chris! It looks like we are in the Classic view. Is this issue resolved in the new one? Does my school have to pay extra to enable the new learner experience?

This doesn't really answer my question - we are in Classic. Why can I only select images when I go to insert stuff > course files?
