Request for Help with Legend for Quiz Icons in D2L
I hope this message finds everyone well.
I have set up quiz questions in my D2L course so that when a quiz is published, the D2L system displays the following to learners:
- The correct answers to the displayed question.
- The learner’s response to the displayed question.
- The learner's grade for the displayed question.
Some students have been uncertain about some of the icons used. I would like to know if there is a legend that I can post for students to explain the icons that appear in these questions, especially multiple-choice or multiple-response questions. Specifically, I need explanations for:
- The blue arrow
- The red X
- The black check-mark
- The faded check mark
Your assistance in providing or directing me to this information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help!

- Blue arrow: This indicates the correct answer to the question.
- Red X: This indicates an answer chosen by the student, but is incorrect.
- Black check mark: This indicates an answer chosen by the student, that is correct.
As for the faded check mark, I'm not sure what you are referring to there, unless it's the check mark for which answers a student chose for a Multi-Select question.
Hope that helps!

Hi Johnny;
I feel that Johnna's question is a great one; I know both students and instructors who find the red x, the black checkmark and the blue arrow a bit confusing.
That said, I couldn't find anything in the Documentation that provides a full explanation or legend of these elements from a student or teacher's perspective.Does that exist? If so, could you supply a link?
Thanks!
