How do you facilitate assessment by external assessors?
Hi everyone,
We are looking for a simplified solution to allow external assessors e.g. Clinical placement assessors or work-integrated learning (WIL) placement partners, to view student work or self-evaluation/reflections and provide feedback through a rubric and/or providing comments. Enrolling each one into individual Brightspace unit/course sites is not an option as there are simply too many and the administration needs to be managed by many different areas of the university. Does the new Portfolio tool allow this functionality or do you use another integrated tool? If using an external integrated tool, could you please share what you are using?

I don't think the Portfolio tool can accommodate this need to allow external assessors the ability to view student work.
What might be a consideration is to set up assignments as "Observed In Person" types. In this way, external assessors might be emailed a student assignment/reflection and a consistent rubric and then share back the completed rubric/score to a faculty member that has gradebook access to enter the grade.
I really like the idea you have for extended functionality of the Portfolio Tool, and would recommend submitting it as a PIE Item
