Re: Brightspace Data Sets Updates
The Keeping on Top of Brightspace Data Sets blog has just been updated to add changes in the Creator+ Brightspace Data Sets under the June 2025/20.25.06 (BDS v.9.18 / 10.2) release. These changes were released unexpectedly and without proper documentation. Updated reference tables will be available on Thursday, July 3.
My apologies for any confusion!

Conversations about BrightSpace Quizzes
Hi Folks,
Apparently there are big changes afoot on the BrightSpace PIE. As a result of these changes, posts marked as "Not Planned" will not be migrated to the new platform. According to D2L, these ideas will be retained on their internal system to inform future innovation, but will no longer appear on the PIE. So, in the interest of continuing our micro-community of people advocating for improvements to the BrightSpace quiz platform, I am setting up this space on the Community site.
Re: Receiving a 403 Forbidden API Error Message
Hi Mateen, Thank you for submitting your question.
Based on the 403 Forbidden errors you're seeing, it's very likely that you're hitting API rate limits. Even though you're using multiple backend servers with separate refresh tokens, if the same client ID or user context is being reused, Brightspace may still throttle the requests. This is consistent with how D2L’s API rate limiting works, as outlined in their documentation.
It’s also worth checking that each token has the correct scopes and is being refreshed properly under load. If possible, try reviewing the response headers of the failed requests, they might include a Retry-After or other rate-limit indicators.

How can I remove the calendar event associated with content start date?
How can I remove the calendar event associate with content start date? I want to schedule content to become visible to learners at the appropriate date/time without it displaying as an event on the calendar. I have several content pages (i.e. PDFs like session slides) that I want to become visible just at the time of the live session for learners to follow along. However, it is distracting to have so many "events" on the calendar.
I have tried hiding it from the calendar
Via Calendar
- Go to Calendar
- Select List
- Select relevant events
- More Actions > Select Visibility > Hidden
- Save
The visibility doesn't actually change though.
Via Manage Dates
- Select relevant Content
- The Calendar checkboz is greyed out and cannot be unchecked.
How can I achieve removing these content availabilities from the calendar?
