As a general rule, the UPDATE command will behave as a CREATE command if the object in question does not yet exist in Brightspace, as stated in our documentation about general CSV rules:
"Sending an UPDATE action when the object does not exist results in a CREATE request. Common behavior is to use only the UPDATE or DELETE actions."
This other article has more information and some CSV examples specifically about actions related to Users in Brightspace. I believe you would find it useful.

Reports (from Gradebook?)
Hello everyone,
Is there a way to run a report, for a whole class, that shows their test performance categorized by learning objective?
Let's say, for example, that my test has 10 questions. Questions 1-5 assess learning goal 1 (lg1). Questions 6-10 assess learning goal 2 (lg2). If my student passes the test, but misses questions 2, 3 and 4, I know to go back and revisit the content for lg1 with that student.
I need to be able to do this for a whole group. I am hoping there is a report tool, and maybe I need to tweak the exam settings.
Any ideas?

While I wait for an answer, would it be possible for you to share more details about the workflow with Groups that you can no longer follow now? Depending on what you would like to do, there might be work-around solutions that can be applied.

Individual survey results to users - Survey Reports
Hi,
At THUAS we are using surveys more and more.
However, I would like to be able to display the answers the students gave but ONLY their own responses after they submitted their responses.
I cannot find this option in Reports.
How do I accomplish this?

Hi Adrian,
I was able to reproduce the behaviour experienced with the future quizzes not showing in the New Content Experience (Lessons). Future quizzes are visible in Classic, New Learner Experience and visible in the Calendar widget. I was unable to find any role or tool permission to resolve this behaviour in Lessons.
Please have your institutions LMS support team open a case with D2L Support to investigate this issue.

@Adrian.V.583 I believe this is expected behavior for the New Content Experience. An update scheduled for November will allow students to see Assignments and Discussions outside of availability dates, but Quizzes don't seem to be included.
